Today, I visited the Heidate Shrine in Kumamoto, which is the land of my heart. I was offered a solemn official prayer by the 137th priest, Mr. Haruki at eleven in the morning and sang the national anthem twice sonorously with other worshippers under the national flag hanging on the shrine to wrap up things. I was very touched and felt cleansed and pure.

In the afternoon, I gave a lecture at the Hinomiya World Peace Training Hall in the precincts. About 16 people attended this lecture all the way from the city Kumamoto to the back in the mountains, where it takes about two hours from the city. They’re all from other cities or prefectures such as Amakusa, Miyakonojyo, Nagasaki, Fukuoka, and Tottori.
In the lecture, which turned out to be three hours lecture, I’ve realized that I was talking about one inspiration that seemed like I got from the official prayer. Maybe because I was influenced by the beauty of the vivid sun on the Japanese national flag in the Heidate Shrine, otherwise known as Hinomiya (temple of the sun) and I talked like below in my lecture.
“I think our origin is the sun because the vibration from the light of the sun is the energy source of all creation. It seems that ancient Japanese put palms together to pray to the sun when the sun rises and over every matter. I think this became the origin of the creation of Japanese soul. Japanese soul…that is exactly what the priest said when wrapping up the prayer today, that is “harmonization of heaven and earth” and “harmonization of all creation”.
While I travel around the world, I’ve never felt the stronger necessity of this Japanese soul than before. Also I’ve been thinking how I could tell everyone in the world. Now I learned how to do it.
That is to establish the day to thank the Sun, who is the mother for all human beings.
The day of water on March 22nd was established by the UN. But we have not had the day of the Sun yet. Let’s establish the day of the Sun and thank and pray to the Sun together.
Lately, I often hear that the global warming occurs because of the change in the activity of the Sun, not because of the increasing of CO2. Although I won’t talk whether it is true or not here, I’d like to remind you that we take the sun just like water for granted as it should be there, it’s just the thing that rises from the east and sets in the west. We do not deeply think its value. Of course I’m not talking about elders or people whose jobs benefit from the nature.
Water exists to send the vibration sent from the sun for all creatures. And water’s favorite words are Love and Gratitude. And it does not like being ignored. From this fact, I think that the sun giving off vibration also loves Love and Gratitude and does not like being ignored just as water. Nowadays, people do not pay respect to the sun anymore. Maybe that’s the major reason why this world is in chaos.
Anyhow, the sun can be seen from anywhere in the earth and we can see it with our naked eyes. In other words, we can share the sun for sure and can see it everyday. There’s nothing like this in this world. It is our mother who sends us vibration energy for all lives. I believe that everyone would understand and agree with the idea that all her children on the earth apologize it for our rudeness, thank it, and tell that we love it no matter what type of religion one has or culture we’re in now.
I immediately asked the priest, Mr. Haruki about this idea. He was very happy with this idea and even suggested the date. He suggested the Spring Equinox Day, which is March 20th this year. As you already know, this day could be March 21st sometimes. So I chose March 21st because the next day, 22nd is the day of water set by the UN. By doing so, we could offer gratitude to our mother sun and father water next day, which is the harmonization of heaven and earth.
The matter would be what we should do on this day. I have not came up any idea specifically yet. I’d like to start this on March 21st in 2009. For March 21st this year, I’d suggest that each one of us put palms together facing to the sun when we get up in the morning and apologize, thank, and offer our love to the sun.
For example…
I’m sorry that I’ve ignored you, Sun.
Thank you, Sun, for your unconditional love.
I love you for good, Sun.
