* Monday, May 30, 2005 Party at Mr. Sokolov’s House

Today we left Trinity for Sun Valley. It took two hours to drive from Trinity to Sun Valley. We saw mountains covered with green plants all through the way. There were several beautiful mountains still covered with snow, too.

We left the cottage at about two and arrived at Sun Valley Inn a little past four. We were invited to a party held at Mr. Sokolov’s house. Mr. Sokolov is a person who introduced Dr. Emoto at the seminar, and he also invited Darai Rama to Sun Valley in September this year. He is a big fan of “The Hidden Messages in Water”, and always gives a copy to everyone who comes to his house. He specially planned today’s party for Dr. Emoto.

I had heard that Mr. Sokolov’s house is very big before I got a look at his real house with my own eyes. Yet when I arrived at his compound, I really was surprised. It was like a small village. There were many buildings in the compound and I didn’t tell where the gate was. I held my breath when I entered his house and saw the interior, especially the big fireplace. You can see the large garden from the terrace. An artificial river flows across the garden. There is a small waterfall over there, too.

Mr. Sokolov looks busy at his work and he has another house in Florida, so he is not always at this great house in San Valley. If I were he, I would like to be here all through the year. Am I a stingy person? How about you?

I made friends with some people through the journey in Idaho. I enjoyed interesting conversation and nice meal with them. Dr. Emoto will be able to meet them in San Valley when Darai Rama comes in September.

* Sunday, May 29, 2005-2  Swimming Pool of Hot Spring

Sun Valley Seminar finished Friday, so yesterday and today we enjoyed holidays after a long time. Jonathan, staff of a water company Trinity invited us to the cottage near the source of Trinity’s water. Jonathan and we have been friends since we met in Idaho where we had a seminar then.

I heard Trinity was named in relation to three founders and three sources. (The word “trinity” means “three”, you know.) This water’s most outstanding feature is that it comes out from 2.2mile underground, which is the deepest known now in the world. In addition, the water spends sixteen thousand years underground, warmed up there all the while, and finally comes out as hot spring of about 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Out of three sources, one flows into a river in its natural form. People living there and tourists often plays in the river mixed with hot spring.

The second source is right near the factory where they bottle the water for drinking. This is the only water sold for drinking in America that can be bottled without any artificial process.

It means that the water is so pure. And the third source comes out from the bottom of the swimming pool in front of our cottage. So it is a large hot spring rather than a swimming pool. One side is deeper than our body height, and there used to be a diving platform. As to the temperature of the hot spring, it feels comfortable early in the morning or at night when you feel a little cold, so you may feel you could be in it for hours and hours.

Dr. and Mrs. Emoto didn’t get into the swimming pool at first, saying that they didn’t have bathing suits. But after it got dark they borrowed bathing suits and soaked themselves. We spent out weekend free and easy with the friends of Idaho and Sun Valley. Dr. Emoto calls them Trinity friends.

Everybody felt at home. We had curry and rice cooked by Kazuko for lunch yesterday. The Trinity friends were very glad eating to be full. Other meal was served by Ann, the manager of the cottage. She certainly a good cook.!

I relaxed and soothed my fatigue for the first time since the seminar tour in America began. Soaking himself in holy water of sixteen thousand old, Dr. Emoto will be filled up with energy again.

Below is a message from Dr. Emoto sent to the staffs of IHM referring to the United Nation’s seminar on May 26. It was originally exclusive for the staff and persons concerned, but the contents, we suppose, are very neatly summarized and will serve as useful reference for you readers. So we decided to show you the message with Dr. Emoto’s permission.

Thank you for coming all the way to encourage me and sending beautiful flowers and hearty message cards. I got the message cards after the seminar, but the flowers were set just in front of my seat. So while I was speaking, I sometimes gave a glance at them and remember you all. The flowers looked much more beautiful after the seminar, I suppose.

Now, how and why I give the lecture for the UN this time is well known to you through Mr. Nemoto. But I wasn’t able to understand for sure the real meaning of invitation from the UN till I arrived at the seminar room that day. I felt I must not be over exhilarated expecting much from the UN.

But when I heard the news that the room for my seminar was suddenly changed into a much larger room, and when I entered the room and sit on the seat that had been ready with a nameplate “MASARU EMOTO”, I said to myself “Yes, this is it, the UN, really.” And all of a sudden I felt real and got somewhat nervous pleasantly.

I encouraged myself then. I appealed with considerable spirit to the audience of about 150 through an interpreter for 40 minutes. Below is the contents of the seminar.

  1. the present state and forecast of the greenhouse effect.
  2. Human being and Gaia, the earth, is one same thing. What will happen if nothing changes.
  3. The exploding population increase, especially of this 100 years, is the cause.
  4. A large amount of energy was used. Energy is vibration, and vibration emits heat: thus, greenhouse effect is a matter of course.
  5. The population will increase by 5 billion in 100 years. Showing a forecast chart made by the UN.
  6. The influence has already appeared. Showing pictures of an Island in South Pacific and melting icebergs.
  7. Nothing changed, the same thing as the Mu Continent or Atlantis will become of us.
  8. These are why we should change the method of producing energy. Not from the fire but from the water.
  9. In such time, “Messages from Water” enter the stage and diffused quickly around the world, interestingly, through women, symbol of water.
  10. How to take pictures of water crystals.
  11. We couldn’t succeed in taking pictures at first, experienced a lot of hardship, but once a picture was taken, it went smoothly. Showing the pictures of water crystals.
  12. 11-year observation told us that the crystals are designs for vibration of energy.
  13. In the meantime I came to understand what vibration is.
  14. The principle of vibration has relation mainly to resonance. Explaining this using a tuning fork.
  15. It is water that conveys vibration of energy.
  16. Therefore, the pictures of water crystals can be new method of observing energy.
  17. The evidence: about music. Showing a picture of water crystal exposed with playing of Beethoven’s Symphony No.9.
  18. The evidence: about words. Showing pictures of water crystals shown the words “Thank you” or “You fool” in Japanese, English, Germany, French.
  19. The evidence: prayers. Showing videos and pictures of children praying for water.
  20. The water shown words “Love Thanks” made the most beautiful crystal.
  21. These two words might give us a hint of how to produce energy from water.
  22. Suppose active energy is “love”, and passive energy is “thanks”.
  23. H2O, water’s chemical formula, means one love and two thanks. When humanity understands this, we will get free energy from water.
  24. The true meaning of Einstein’s formula on energy.
  25. E = (the numbers of persons) x (Consciousness squared). Therefore, The higher our consciousness is, the more energy we can get.
  26. Explaining that our consciousness is only 3/100 point in this moment.
  27. If this point reach 100, 60 trillion people can live on this earth, like our body has 60 trillion cells.
  28. The best way to take our consciousness higher is to make “Messages from Water” child version and to give to children of all around the world for free. We will do that through"International Water for Life Foundation" ,which we founded in sympathy with the UN’s The Internationla Decade for Action “Water for Life”. I hope to develop this foundation into an NPO authorized by the UN and request your understanding and help.


This lecture was over with standing ovation. I suppose I was able to gain sympathy of them. This seminar was organized by an NGO, so this directly leads to some movement of the UN. But I think it has made the first step to realize my ideas. And that means it has put me and IHM to the right direction, I believe.

Let’s produce good and beautiful books for children. Of course books on water. And let’s publish them all over the world. Give the books to children all over the world for free in the next 10 years.

Now we have a simple goal. “Hado of Love Thanks for Water Project” or “the IHM Project”.

Let’s start this project on November 16, 2005.

* Friday, May 27, 2005 Sun Valley Seminar

So the United Nation’s seminar is finally over and we woke up at four in the morning again to fly from New York to Sun Valley, Idaho this time. Sun Valley is a famous ski resort.


Sun Valley is a resort enclosed by the mountain.

The most famous residents in this small town seemed to be the actor, Bruce Willis, and his ex-wife, Demi Moore. They had bought a house in Sun Valley when they were still married but after the divorce, Demi took the house. However, since Bruce wanted to live near his children, he bought a house next to his old one for five times as much as the market price. We took a detour to peak at the houses of these celebrities but since it was surrounded by woods, we were not able to see much.

So, at the Sun Valley seminar, Dr. Emoto was introduced by Mr. Sokoloff, a man that had invited Dr. Emoto back to Sun Valley in September to meet Dalai Lama.

At the seminar, Dr. Emoto did not show any fatigue even after the series of early mornings as he shared how it was at the United Nations the day before.

“Imagine: Water for Peace Concert” was held on September 17 last year at UN headquarter by a group of Husui, but it was a kind of entertainment for UN staff. This time, however, Dr. Emoto was officially invited by UN’s official committee, so the seminar is more significant.

IHM staff, Impression staff and Oak Japan staff who support us, Mr. and Mrs. Yamaguchi, who took part in Hado-School, Campbell Kyoko and Mr. Susan, interpreter Chieko Bond, Hiromasa Emoto and his wife of Hado Publishing USA, Tsuneko Narukage, editor of Monthly Hado entered UN building earlier and enjoyed a tour around the UN building guided by Hiromi Niwa from 10 in the morning..

Ms. Niwa is an official tour guide. She once interpreted our Website from Japanese into English as a volunteer. She accepted the role of tour guide pleasantly.

She explained about UN’s role and its present state with displays. We visited some conference halls. This day UN Security Council was held, so we can’t enter the hall, but we managed to enter the famous hall where UN General Assembly is held.

After the one-hour tour, we ate lunch at a buffet-style restaurant named Delegates Dining Room on the fourth floor of the UN building. It has a fine view of the East River. Six jet fighters were flying in formation at a low altitude. I heard later that May 31, the last Monday of May, is Memorial Day. During the preceding several days make consecutive holidays, military themed events are hold.

Dr. and Mrs. Emoto, Akihiro Otake, and Ayano Furuya arrived at La Guardia Airport in NY, which is for domestic flight service only, from Oklahoma, where Dr. Emoto held a seminar the day before, by way of Chicago, at twelve ten. There they joined Kumiko Ichise and Chieko Bond.

We entered the conference hall a little behind schedule because the distribution of security passes were delayed.

We heard that the seminar was to be held at Conference Room 8, but right before the seminar, it was changed for Room 1, which was the largest in the rooms on the first basement.

The seminar began with a sound of the Tibetan bell. People there meditated quietly, and then the flute was played.

First, Ida talked about how and why this seminar was planned. She quoted Albert Einstein saying that a problem can't be solved in the same state of consciousness that created it. It left a deep impression on me. This means we should heighten our consciousness and solve problems in a spiritual dimension. So Dr. Emoto’s philosophy and water crystal pictures are called for, which can appeal to the heart of people, by the UN.

Next, Anwarul K. Chowdhury, UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative gave the first Keynote Talk. His work is to listen to politically-inarticulate developing countries and bring their feelings or ideas to UN.

He said that People feel anxiety in the face of the unknown, but the unknown is never a threat to us. But it is difference that bring forth energy, the source of creation. I just agree with him.

A lot of people has come.

I felt that around the resonance experiment, Dr. Emoto’s passion began to penetrate through the heart of people.

Some people let out a voice of excitement seeing the film “The Messages from Water”, which shows water crystals growing in motion. An experiment of prayer by a family was put on the screen, too. The expression and comments of a child with pure heart can transgress languages or borders.

Dr. Emoto said that he wants to give children all over the world “The Messages from Water” for free and he needs aid or assistance. Then his forty-minute lecture was finished.

After that, the organizer asked the audience three questions. They made small groups and had a discussion on the subjects. Then question-and-answer sessions were held.

Below are summaries of Dr. Emoto’s Qs and As.
Q: How Love and Thanks help people in the developing countries?
A: I’d like to show children water crystal pictures. Then they’ll understand the power of words.
Q: What the education in the developing country should be like?
A: I went to India March this year, where I talked to poor children. They got excited and understood the meaning of water crystal pictures. The advanced countries should work in concert to bring children of developing countries water crystal pictures.
Q: What can the UN do?
A: (In a half-joking but half-serious tone) They can invite me to give a lecture many times.
Q: What do you think the role of art is?
A: Music is vibration itself. It has great power of healing. Some day music CD will be sold at drugstores.

Just before the end of the session, the subject was moved away from water crystal pictures, so I raise my hand and remarked “Taking water crystal pictures is an innovative method that can represent something invisible. How about distributing simple catalogs that carry pictures of crystals of water that was exposed to the words ‘Thank You’ and ‘You Fool’ and explanation in UN’s official six languages to children all over the world. It can be put into execution immediately.

Please give your cooperation on the realization of this plan.” I tried to emphasize Dr. Emoto ‘s intention, and they agreed with me.

Lastly, representative of the World Peace Prayer Society gave a closing speech. She passionately said that she was very impressed by Dr. Emoto’s lecture.

At the end of this program, Dr. Emoto, organizers, and lecturers were applauded by standing ovation.

After this program, I had a chance to talk with Debora directly. She suggested that the catalogue s of water crystal pictures that are to be distributed to children have the prayer“May peace prevail on earth” on it. I thought it was great.

We left the UN building for Japanese restaurant Naniwa and have a party there. Dr. Emoto received message cards from IHM staff.

This is how we spent the night of May 26, the memorial day for IHM and water crystal pictures.

Dr. and Mrs. Emoto and Ayano Furuya went to the hotel of JFK Airport by taxi. We saw them off. They continue the America tour for about two weeks.

* Wednesday, May 25, 2005  Oklahoma City Seminar

Today is a traveling day as well as a seminar day. Luckily, Oklahoma City and Kansas City was not too far away so the travel time was not too bad but since Dr. and Mrs. Emoto will be on the road for the total of three months, it’s inevitable that their bags get big. Especially because he tends to receive gifts from different people along the different part of his travel.


Oklahoma is famous in the buffalo.

The seminar started at 7pm inside a hall of a children’s science museum. What we always do before the seminar is the AV check at the venue. Is the microphone working ok? Where would we be standing? How is the lighting? What about the projector and the computer? We finished checking everything about an hour before the beginning of the seminar and moved on to a reception. Then we came back to the hall to start the seminar at about 5 of 7.

And then a big trouble! What was projected on the big screen in front of the audience was only the two third of the right part of the computer screen. We had no idea why this happened so we had no idea how to fix this problem until at 7:15, we came up with an emergency measure. We reduced the size of the whole computer screen which made all the images that was projected more rough but still visible. Dr. Emoto and I were both rushing around and nervous until the very end.


The computer was tentatively reconciled, too.

Since I was worried about the computer, especially because we have the United Nations speech the next day, I was not able to concentrate on what Dr. Emoto was saying and I had to ask him to repeat himself a several times.

Actually, Dr. Emoto was not concentrated enough because of the trouble with the computer during the seminar as well. “Today’s seminar went really badly. I feel sorry to the people that came to hear me,” he was saying.

Luckily, we were able to end the seminar with a standing ovation but as soon as we returned to the hotel, we called the office in Japan for a SOS. We tried playing with the computer in all different ways while we were on the phone and finally fixed it somehow.

We all were able to relax in the end. Hopefully, the United Nation seminar will go well tomorrow. We will have to wake up at 4 in the morning to be able to make the 3pm seminar in New York. This will be the series of waking up early, travel, and seminar days but we hope we can live through them.

* Tuesday, May 24, 2005 Kansas City Seminar

Usually, when we do not have to travel that day, we usually have a seminar scheduled that evening or night and we try not to put anything scheduled in the morning. However, that does not mean that we can relax for that morning.

Of course, there are days when traveling and seminar are worked in a single day. In those days, we may edit the presentation on the plane sometimes.

However, there was another thing we had to do in the morning today. It was to sign the 300 books of Dr. Emoto’s new book, “The True Power of Water”. Some organizers will leave some boxes of books for Dr. Emoto to sign if he has some time.

Dr. Emoto always tries to accommodate as much of the request as possible when in comes to signing. So of course, he signed the 300 hundred books all throughout the morning. With the signature, we always stamp the words, “love and thanks” in the inside cover of the book. The stamping and stacking up the books are the job of Mrs. Emoto and mine. The signing becomes possible with the team work of the three of us.


This is the masses of books. It kept affixing a stamp.

The seminar was scheduled to start at 7:30 but at the meeting right before the seminar, Dr. Emoto decided to switch over the main translator to myself instead. I was to translate in front of 1100 people. I survived through 400 people but I wasn’t sure about 1100 people, at a very large and well equipped venue.

At this seminar, Dr. Emoto’s friend, Silver Star, came to give us some strength as well.

So, how did the seminar itself go? Well, I was a little nervous in the beginning but since I had to give all my attention and concentration to each word that Dr. Emoto was saying, I had no real time to worry about the audience. As a result, I think Dr. Emoto was able to have fun at this seminar and was able to send the message of love and thanks to many people.

* Monday, May 23, 2005 Night before Kansas City seminar

We moved on to Kansas City from Montreal today. Some of the staffs and the organizers for the symposium were waiting for us at the hotel lobby to see us off.

Marilyn, one of the main organizers of this event was also there. She reminded me of a fairly god mother with her small stature and her energy. She liked Dr. Emoto’s seminar a lot that she had already invited him to come back to the next symposium next year.

At the hotel lobby when we were all saying our goodbyes, she said something that was very impressionable and heart filling. “I can see some of the future. What you are doing is very important. You will receive a big grant that will help in creating laboratories in different parts of the world. And many scientists will try to replicate what you are doing. However, only people with good hearts be able to replicate it. There will be people that will not like what you are doing and will try to come in your way. But don’t worry because a strong force will come and sweep those people away. You still have ideas that you are not ready to express to the world yet.”

Dr. Emoto recalled this story happily with a glass of wine in his hand tonight. There were many people that have given him warnings and cautions in hopes to support Dr. Emoto in the past but Marilyn had nothing negative to say. She had given Dr. Emoto and all the people working around him some hope.

With such a happy story, the three of us, Dr. and Mrs. Emoto and I, opened the two bottles of wine that the organizer of the Kansas City seminar had prepared for us. So with a little tipsiness, we went on to a little practice run for the United Nation’s seminar that is scheduled on the 26th. However, he only has 40 minutes, and with the translator, the actual allotted time is only 20 minutes to talk. But we all had our own concerns about what we wanted him to talk about. We would add or subtract a subject in the middle of the rehearsal that we never get to the very end. Well, we just have to wait and see how things will turn out in the end.

* Sunday, May 22, 2005 Debut as a translator

We are in the last three weeks of Dr. Emoto’s three months seminar tour now. I, Ayano Furuya, came back to the United States once again to be with him for that last three weeks.

I met up with Dr. and Mrs. Emoto at Montreal this time. Dr. Emoto was invited as one of the key note speakers at a symposium that will be held for over a week there. Even in the middle of May, the city was cold. I had only packed for summer clothing since I will be moving on the southern United States and Miami. Luckily, since the venue was at the hotel that we stayed in, we did not have to go out in the cold too many times.

You may think that since I got to come to a new place, I should go out to explore the city a little. However, Dr. Emoto’s schedule is so packed that there rarely is time for any free time or for going out in the city.

Today was one of the typical and busy days as well.

We all met up for breakfast at eight to start out the day. Then a meeting in the room. Before long, a radio program starts from 10. The host of this radio station is Master Sha, a chi master and a friend of Dr. Emoto’s. He was one of the speakers at this symposium as well.

The interview was conducted by Master Sha asking question and I translate Dr. Emoto’s answers. I was a little nervous to know that my voice will be played on the radio as well. I’m not a professional translator and it was my very first experience to be on a radio show.

But it seemed like Dr. Emoto was used this type of interview and was very relaxed. Although I was too caught up with using all my head for translation, Dr. Emoto answered each questions with the fact that there were only limited amount of time available in his head.

After the interview was a lunch party planned by the organizers of this symposium. Many speakers and guests came together to share the meal. We learnt that this symposium has been going on for 30 years so there were people that had been coming here for years. Dr. Emoto may be one of those people that will be coming back every year since this one. (the organizers had already asked for him to come back the next year.)

The lunch that started from 12 noon ended at 2. Then we went over the slides and presentation for today’s seminar. Actually, I will be marking my debut as Dr. Emoto’s seminar translator at this Montreal seminar. The biggest reason why I will be translating is because there was no right translator found at this city. However, marking this debut, I will be translating at 12 out of 8 seminars for the next three weeks.

I’m a little worried that Dr. Emoto has never seen me translate his seminar but he has already planned for me to translate for 8 seminars. But on the other hand, does this mean that he is putting a lot of faith in me? So I really have to make this Montreal seminar a good one.

4pm, the beginning of the seminar. The venue that seats about 400 people became filled. However, since I was just busy running around getting everything set up and what not, I did not have the time to actually let the nervousness come over me.

Since I have heard the lecture few times before, I think I was able to transfer the message to the audience without too many mistakes. When people stood up at the end with a big round of applause, I was moved to know that I was receiving this appreciation from people as well.


The translator debut was able to be decorated with the standing ovation.

However, we went straight into book signing after that so I was not able to really have the time to feel the relief. “it was great”, “thank you”, people kept coming to Dr. Emoto to express their thoughts and gratitude which I translated as I opened books for him to sign.

Around 8, the line for the singing finally finishes as we are all ready to go for dinner. Tonight will be Chinese food with Master Sha. At the restaurant that Master Sha took us, there were many local Chinese people enjoying their food. “We can expect some good food!” Mrs. Emoto and I were overjoyed.

Of course, it was more than what we expected. We had dishes after dishes of delicious seafood. We were especially impressed by the Vancuvour crab that we ordered seconds.

* Sunday, May 15, 2005 Philadelphia Seminar

[We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.]

This is a quote from the Declaration of Independence. The movement for the independence started here in Philadelphia, about 40 min. plane ride from New York. Many people don’t know that Philadelphia once was the capital of this country.

Philadelphia is an important place for Thomas Jefferson (the third president of the United States) and also for 13 virtues’ Benjamin Franklin. Without these two men, there may not have been an independence of the United States. There are Franklin’s museum, memorial of the independence, and other such buildings that reminds us that Philadelphia was where the movement started. This city must have meant something special for Dr. Emoto as well.

The seminar was conducted in Thomas Jefferson University

The seminar today was organized by a yoga group called Yoga Research Society. There was a workshop by Dr. Puratap who is the representative of this group in the morning. And in the afternoon, the seminar for Dr. Emoto was conducted. The venue that seated 350 became full and there were people standing at the back as well.

The seminar went on very smoothly with the help from Keijirou Yamaguchi as a translator. I often feel this but when the translator is the right person, then Dr. Emoto gets further into his talk and the audience gets pulled in to his talk as well. The translator is one of the most important factor in deciding whether the seminar goes well or not.

At the end of the seminar, Dr. Emoto called out, “I would like to provide this sticker of Benjamin Franklin’s 13 virtues to Philadelphia’s schools and other public establishments so if anybody is interested, please come up.” Of course, many people came up. Unfortunately, there was not enough for everybody that expressed their interest but I think once this sticker and this idea spreads through the country a change may occur. As Dr. Emoto says, “without peace in the United States, there will be no peace in the world.”

After the seminar, Dr. Puratap took us to a bookstore called Garland of Letters Bookstore. The bookstore specialized in spiritual and new age type of genres. Of course, there was a corner for all water crystal related books.

The owner of the bookstore, Candis is a student of yoga for 30 years and was the very person that introduced the water crystal book to Cynthia of Beyond Words. So, Candis was the very person that brought the bestselling book, The Hidden Messages in Water to the United States.

Her and her staff were all very excited and happy to see Dr. Emoto visit their bookstore and signed their books on the shelf.

* Saturday, May 14, 2005 Omega Institute Seminar

My alarm for this morning was a chanting from the next room. At around 6 in the morning I suddenly opened my eyes to a very loud Tibetan type chanting in quartet. It probably was the student staying here but it was a little strange. I just told myself that it must be a good luck to be able to wake up to such a thing.

 

We started the seminar at 9 this morning, a little earlier than usual, at Lake Theater of Omega Institute. It seated about 75 people. There were people that had been staying in the institute for a while and others that came all the way there just for this event. There were many at the back sitting on the floor in Yoga pose since many of them where students of Yoga.

 

The seminar was scheduled for three hours, a little longer than usual. I noticed that many people were listening to Dr. Emoto very intently. People’s strong interest was evident from all the questions Dr. Emoto was receiving during the book signing.

 

The translator was Kazuko Tatsumura, the older sister of Tatsumura movie director that directed “Gaia Symphony”. She had just come back from Japan and came all the way here for us. She is an acupuncturist in New York and has done translations for Dr. Emoto a few times as well.

We had lunch after the seminar and left the Omega Institute for the next destination. We will have a seminar at Philadelphia tomorrow. I can’t wait to meet more new people.

* Friday, May 13, 2005 Moving on to Omega Institute

We spent a nice relaxing morning today and then left the Yamaguchis’ to go to Omega Institute for a seminar there scheduled for the next day. Mr. and Mrs. Yamaguchi were kind enough to drive us all the way there.

 

On the way there, Mr. and Mrs. Yamaguchi stopped by at Vanderbilt mansion at Hyde Park for us. William Vanderbilt was a very prominent business man and a charismatic person in the high class society. It is said that he was the one that taught the former president, Roosevelt, the manners of the high society. (there’s the Roosevelt’s mansion near by as well.) His mansion that is located within the woods is facing the Hudson River has been turned in to a museum now.

 

We had a rest by the river after walking through the museum. We had a little picnic by the river as we listen to the chirping of the birds.

We drove for another half an hour after that till we reached the Omega Institute in the woods. We said our goodbyes to Mr. and Mrs. Yamaguchi there and took a little tour of the institute.

 

This is a place where people can stay for a few days to practice yoga or meditation. It focuses on the rebalance of the body so there is no reception on the cell phones, no alcohol, and the food is mostly vegetarian. If I stayed here for about a week, I think all my impurities in my body will be washed out.

 

The time seemed to pass by slowly and quietly as we were surrounded by nature. Dr. and Mrs. Emoto both received some healing power from this place.

Today started with a morning flight from Baltimore to New York. Mrs. Emoto explained that the security at the airport gets tighter and tighter as you move on east within the country. I had experienced that first hand today.

 

At Baltimore airport, the body check was conducted not by people but by an advance machine. You walk in this silver gate where a strong gust of wind glows from every direction. “they may control your mind once you step in to that thing.” Dr. Emoto was joking but I was actually pretty nervous walking through that thing. (and it didn’t help that the staff there looked solemn.)

 

But the baggage check was worse. Not only did they look through every pocket in my bag but they went through everything in my wallet, opened each CD case, and looked through my notebooks. It took ridiculously long time. I’m just amazed that Dr. and Mrs. Emoto are going through that all the time.

 

At the NY airport, Mr. and Mrs. Yamaguchi were there to pick us up. They had been lvingin in the States for 30 years since their company in Shizuoka, Japan, built a branch in the States. They retired two years ago ready to do something for themselves (and for the others) when they came across the crystal pictures and Hado. And so at the last Hado Jyuku session in Japan, Dr. Emoto met Mr. and Mrs. Yamaguchi.

 

The Yamaguchis’ house is located about 50 km from New York City in a beautiful suburb of Thornwood. We stopped by at their country club for lunch on our way to their house. It was a beautiful place filled with flowers.

On our way farther was a water reservoir called Kensico reservoir that was surrounded by the woods. This reservoir is known as NY’s water jug and is one of the major source of water for the New Yorkers. Since the 911, the security around the area had tighten in prevention of poising the water or other terrorist acts. So in order to protect the New York water, a lot of money and effort us used. This is something to think about…

 

We were able to have a relaxing time at their house since there was no scheduled seminar or interviews. The place was surrounded by nature and we heard a lot of birds chirping. Dr. Emoto released his stress and fatigue by sitting in a massage chair, or by playing piano.

Balitimore was once known to have “the cleanest water source in the whole country”. However, just like any other cities, the bay area of Baltimore had seen a rapid growth of industrialization and the decrease in the quality of water along with it.

 

We conducted a prayer ceremony to send love and thanks to the water at the InnerHarbor in Baltimore. There were about 30 participants. They all brought their own bottle of water as we placed them in the middle of a circle that we formed. Then we faced the bay to send our prayer, then to the bottles as well. After that, we pour some of that water in the bottles to the bay.

 

The water in the bay looked muggy and there were some bubbles floating about too. On the other side of the bay were all the construction work with the by products of noise pollution. We are all praying for the water in Baltimore to return to its beautiful state.

After the ceremony, we visited AmericanVisionaryArt Museum. This museum is ranked at number four in the world. And it is easy to know why because it is a place where any body can find something fun either in either the outside or the inside of the museum.

 

The owner of this museum, Rebecca greeted us excitedly. My impression of her was a very soft and caring person. This museum was built about ten years ago with her effort. The place exhibits many different works of artists with different types of background.

 

We visited a part of the museum called the Holy H2O where there were many different art pieces with water as the common theme. There also were number of poems written on the walls and the floor. As we walked through, one of the poems caught Dr. Emoto’s eyes. It was a poem titled “Voice of Water” written by Rumi. He was a poet that lived alongside the time of Shakespeare about 500 years ago. The poem expressed the idea that no matter what a person’s religion, we are all the same when we face (return to) water. This was the same thing as what Dr. Emoto had been saying about the world’s five religion and water crystals. (please refer to Message from Water Vol. 3 for more detail). Dr. Emoto was very impressed and moved by this poem.

That night was the Baltimore seminar at a hall connected to the museum. The 500 seats there were quickly filled with expectant faces. As Dr. Emoto walked up the stage after being introduced, everybody started to clap as they all stood up to welcome him. This was the very first time for me to witness a standing ovation even before the seminar begun.

 

However, tonight’s seminar turned out to be a little disappointing because of the translator. This was not the very first time but when the translator is not familiar with the water crystals or the philosophy of Hado, it is difficult to translate for the people to understand fully. However, this person not only was not very familiar with these ideas but he even had troubles with simple Japanese words here and there. Fed up with this, Dr. Emoto started to talk in English himself.

 

Even then, the 500 people in the audience pour all their attention on the speaker. But I have realized the importance of translator especially at the book signing afterwards. There were less people than usual lined up waiting for Dr. Emoto’s autograph. Dr. Emoto was only able to express half as much as he usually does.

 

I would hope that we can have a re-do at Baltimore at the next American seminar tour.

Later that night, Dr. and Mrs. Emoto and myself were sitting at the hotel bar to wind down as we tried to cheer Dr. Emoto up. “It’s really too bad”, “I’m especially apologetic to all the people that came to hear me,” he was saying. Right when we were all feeling down, Cynthia, the publisher that was staying at the same hotel came running in. “I have a big news!!” she announced as she joined us. “Both Hidden Messages in Water and True Power of Water will be on the next New York Times bestseller list as 10th and 12th!”

 

“wow!!” we all exclaimed at the same time as we jumped up and down and clapper our hands in joy. We all took a class in our hands for a toast right after that. True Power of Water lined up the book store last March and quickly sold 50,000 copies in two months.

 

A big news that flew in at the end of the day completely got rid of all the fatigue and disappointment. We can all leave Baltimore with a big smile tomorrow.

We left the excitement of Atlanta behind as we flew over to Baltimore. This historic city has rows of beautiful old brick buildings. There is a shopping mall along the bay and a gorgeous old ship tied there. Baltimore is also known as the birthplace of the baseball legend, Babe Ruth, and the famous writer, Edgar Allan Poe.

We arrived at Baltimore just before noon to find the organizer of Baltimore seminar, Susan Weis waiting for us with a big smile on her face. That day turned out to be Susan’s birthday. “It’s the best birthday present to be able to meet a person like Dr. Emoto on this day,” she said.

 

Susan is the owner of a bookstore called Breathbooks which specializes in spiritual literature and one of the people that was attracted to the crystal pictures. Coincidently the day that this bookstore opened, October 22nd of last year, was the day that the movie, “What the Bleep do we know!?” was released in the theater. Thanks to the movie, the books sold very fast and the sales of the books are still keeping her busy right now.

Because today was Susan’s birthday, Dr. Emoto especially autographed a book of Hidden Messages in Water with a note that says “Happy Birthday” and gave it to her. She exclaimed, “this is the happiest birthday ever!” We had a nice birthday gathering afterwards and shared a joyful time together.


We flew in from Toronto to Atlanta late last night. Atlanta is the birth place of two Noble Peace Prize winners, Martin Luther King and the 39th American president, Jimmie Carter. It is also the place of CNN headquarter and the birthplace of Coca Cola. Surprisingly, this was the first time for Dr. Emoto to visit the American South.

 

Early the next day, Dr. Emoto had a mini lecture for the distributors of his books at New Leaf, the biggest spiritual literature distributor in the country. Since New Leaf is the biggest in the country in that genre, there were rows after rows of cabinets full of books in their large building. We were told that the English version of “Message from Water” and “The Hidden Messages in Water” are continually receiving orders so they are always kept at a certain place in the building. It seems like the bestseller record is still to come in this country.

 

The books with Dr. Emoto’s autograph had sold out in every bookstore within five minutes when they introduced it on the web.

A seminar was conducted at a Unity North Atlanta church, about 40 km away from the downtown Atlanta. It is a new church built about five years ago. We had dinner before the seminar at the church office. We spent some relaxing time with the church dog, Zoe, for a while after the dinner.

 

The seminar started at 7pm with a performance by local musicians in the beginning. One of the performers was Kina Miyamoto, a pianist and the translator for this seminar. Her group played a song that was inspired by the water crystal. The singer was an American person but that person sang beautifully in Japanese.

Because this will be the very first of Dr. Emoto’s lecture in that part of the country, it seemed like Dr. Emoto was especially nervous and excited at the same time. What struck me the most about the lecture was the audience. There were sighs, cheers, gasps, laughter, and big round of applause after every sentence. Picking up that energy, Dr. Emoto seemed to be one with all the people there and presented a perfect seminar. Espeiclaly a woman that was sitting two seats away from myself was responsive that even before Dr. Emoto’s words were translated she would respond with a “ahhhh”, “hahaha”, “wow”, “yay” etc. (it was an ordeal for Mrs. Emoto and I to refrain from laughing out loud.

Lastly, I will spill my secret here. By the end of the seminar, I could not help tears from rolling down my cheeks. I had no conscious feeling that I was crying but I was not able to stop myself as tears after tears filled up my eye. (I remember vaguely thinking that tears from the heart and soul must come like this.)

 

The two hours long seminar that turned out to be about three hours ended with a strong resonance of Hado between Dr. Emoto and the audience. The Atlanta seminar had touch many of our hearts. I am convinced that Dr. Emoto’s crystals will spread throughout that area just like a ripple in water.

Lake Ontario is located just about 15 minutes drive from downtown Toronto and is the biggest lake of the Five Great Lakes there. The water looked clear and pretty but Chieko told us that the area used to be industrial area that the water had been polluted from it. Currently, with the effort of the people, the lake is starting to return back to its beautiful state.

We had a prayer ceremony for LakeOntario with the Natives that had performed the water prayers at the seminar and had some discussions with Dr. Emoto the day before. Many people gathered around the water as we stood in a circle around a plastic bottle with water in it. A native woman from TurtleIsland led the prayer for the lake. Then we all took a little sip of the water in the bottle that received our prayers. In the end, Dr. Emoto started to slowly recount the story of the prayer experiment at LakeBiwa in Japan. Everybody listen with a solemn face and a deep understanding.

 

We finished off the ceremony by pouring out the rest of the water into the lake and expressed our joy and prayers through a dance. Canada is know for its abundance of water but the local people have told me that there are areas that are suffering from increased pollution in water. Therefore Dr. Emoto had a strong wish for the Canadian people to protect that precious water.

So, today is the last day at Toronto but I want to briefly introduce a group of people that had been working hard throughout our stay here. They are the CBC TV crew. They filmed Dr. Emoto closely, and thoroughly for the entire three days. This footage will be used as a part of documentary that they are airing in October. Dr. Emoto exchanged a big hug with the TV crew to show his appreciation and praise their work.

* Saturday, May 7, 2005Toronto Seminar

Toronto took on the headlines everywhere when SARS came out about two years ago. Dr. Emoto had strongly requested to go there and talk at that time. So this is the first time in two years for him to be in Toronto. There was already a long line of people waiting to enter, even 40 minutes before the opening of the door.

 

As an assistant for the tuning experiment and such, I sat at the very front as I waited for the beginning of the seminar. Before the talk though, there was a drum performance and prayers for water by the Natives of Turtle Island. Then the lecture! However, there was a trouble with the microphone for the translator that took about 15minutes fix. “I’ll sing a song until then!” Dr. Emoto volunteered as he entertained the crowd.

And finally the lecture started. Chieko, and Mrs. Emoto had supported Dr. Emoto very well that it all went great in the end. Chieko is one of the translators that Dr. Emoto gives a lot of trust for. Chieko herself looked like she had a lot of fun during the seminar. I was becoming one of the engaged audience listening to peoples sigh and awe that are triggered by Dr. Emoto’s presentation and the crystal pictures. Because I was enjoying the seminar as much as anybody else there, I forgot about assisting for the tuning fork experiment. I had to rush up on the stage at the last minute. (not a grand entry, as I had imagined…)

 

The seminar ended with Dr. Emoto’s short history film. As the light came on, the 500 people there all stood up to give an excited applause and a standing ovation. The place filled up with cheers and I was feeling hot inside as I took the pictures.

After the seminar, we had an early dinner then had a discussion meeting with the Natives that had performed for us in the beginning. There were about 20 people from Australia and the islands of Caribbean. Everybody expressed, “we were moved at the close similarity between the ideas expressed through the water crystals and what my ancestors have been teaching us.”. As long as there are people that support Dr. Emoto’s work this way, it is not only Dr. Emoto’s but us staffs’ responsibility to spread the messages of water throughout the world.

Hello everyone.

 

My name is Hiroko Nomoto from IHM. I will be traveling with Dr. Emoto for part of his long long seminar tour.

 

I flew from Toronto with a stop over in Chicago and arrived at the hotel. I went straight to Dr. and Mrs. Emoto’s room anxious to see them after a long travel. But there was not even a time to relax and enjoy the meeting since Dr. Emoto was already in the middle of a meeting for the CBC radio interview that was scheduled at 7 that night. The translator was Chieko Bond, a woman that is married to a Canadian man and has lived there for the last 15 years. She has translated for Dr. Emoto previously so the meeting with Dr. Emoto went along very smoothly. She will be translating for the seminar the next day as well.

 

The interviewers came right at the appointed time and the interview began. The interviewer asked in the beginning, “Is it ok that we will have you talk in Japanese and the English translation will be played on top of that as your voice fades out?” But Dr. Emoto replied, “no, I feel that my voice as Hado is important for people to hear. I hope it would be ok to have the translator talk after I’m finished.” Especially because it is a radio show where the people cannot see his voice, he wanted to keep that Hado of his voice and the Japanese language.

I heard that he had a CBC TV recording before this one but I could not see a glimpse of fatigue in him as the radio interview went on smoothly. (I wanted to interview him myself and ask, “Where do you get that much energy?”) With some great questions from the interviewer and a good team work between Dr. Emoto and Chieko, the one hour interview went on very well. For the last question, the interviewer asked, “Please let me know if there were anything that you thought I misunderstood or did not understand during the interview.” “oh, just one thing that you didn’t understand, that I’m really hungry right now!” Dr. Emoto joked then. “oh me too!” the interviewer agreed with a laugh. (of course, I was saying “me too!” in my mind as well.) These easy going jokes helped to keep the interview in a good atmosphere as well.

 

Dr. and Mrs. Emoto, Chieko, and I moved on to a nearby restaurant for a delicious sushi afterwards.

 

Tomorrow will be the very first overseas seminar that I will be participating in. I’m too excited to go to sleep!.

* Wednesday, May 4, 2005Sacramento Seminar

This will be the last diary entry that I will be writing. The last one is from Sacramento. I tried to find this place on a map but was not able to. In another words, it is a middle sized city. I have noticed that Dr. Emoto’s seminars are increasingly conducted at cities that are not necessarily indicated on a big map. This must mean that his philosophy is spreading throughout the US.

 

We separated with Michiko this morning and drove to the seminar venue at Red Lion Hotel. This hotel hosts many seminars throughout the year and have enough rooms for the participants of these seminars.

 

The seminar was conducted at the biggest hall which usually seats 400 people, but we packed in as many chairs as possible and was able to fit about 500 people. It seems like everywhere Dr. Emoto goes, it’s a packed house.

 

Dr. Emoto grasped the audience right away with his humor. It was full of exclamation and sigh of awe. As this seminar tour goes on, the content of the talk becomes more and more in depth that the lecture time tends to go over time.

Ron, the translator was on a great streak that day and he himself said, “this was the best seminar I’ve translated”. Apparently, the way he translates is by closing his eyes and ask god to let the words flow out of his mouth as he unconsciously translates on the spot. However, there are times when some incidents in the audience can trigger some mistakes. For example, there were two mistakes that day. One was that he “translated” what Dr. Emoto had not talked about. And the other one was that he witnessed a person that went to pick up a brochure take Benjamin Franklin’s 13 Virtues stickers that was there for presents for people. “No, don’t take that!” he was yelling in his heart when he missed what Dr. Emoto was saying.

 

The rose in the picture were kept in the car for the whole day the day before so it was wilted, but after a night in Ron’s room, it got its life back again. I am still amazed by the power of love and gratitude.

* Tuesday, May 3, 2005Palo Alto seminar

8am, breakfast at the hotel. Dr. Emoto goes for a walk after that while Mrs. Emoto, Mr. Hazaka and I have a meeting till ten. Ten to twelve, meeting with Manfred from Inter License. 12 noon, lunch with everyone. In the afternoon, Dr. Emoto has an interview with a newspaper. Mrs. Emoto, Mr. Hazaka, Beyond Words’ Cynthia and I have a meeting, followed by a meeting with Cindy from Denver’s art museum. Then to the seminar venue right afterwards.

 

Finally at 7pm, a two hours seminar started at Palo Alto, the town that StanfordUniversity is located. There were people lined up to have their books signed even before the seminar. By the time the seminar ended 30 minutes over what had been planned, the 900 people there all stood up for a standing ovation. It was full of energy and was clear evidence that the seminar ended in a success. There was a long line of people at the book signing after the seminar as well. By the time that was all done and we came back to the hotel, it was passed 11 at night. We celebrated the end of the day together with California wine and sushi, a rather interesting combination.

I met up with Dr. and Mrs. Emoto as well as Mr. Hazaka around noon in LA and flew straight to San Fransisco to go visit the Institute of Noetic Science which is about another two hours drive.

At three, a scientist there took us around the place. The buildings were built in the 1970s as part of a university but the Institute took that over about five years ago.

 

The place is about 200 acres big on top of a small hill. Besides all the scientists and staffs, there are about 3,000 cows living there as well. Even when we were taking the tour, we witnessed a wild deer coming out of the woods. I felt a nice harmony with the nature especially with all the simple wooden buildings around. There also is a room for 110 people to stay so that the members can come for a workshop and what not over the weekend. We learned that they are planning to build a small wind mill in the near future in order to be more environmentally friendly.
