Dec.2003 < Jan. 2004 > Feb. 2004

Master Chin Kung, the founder of THE AMITABHA BUDDHIST ASSOCIATION based in Australia and its 24 members visited our company today. There are 300 million believers and attendants all over the world for this association led by the Master.
Our relationship began as one of the Master’s followers had sent The Message from Water to the Master and the Master had resonated very much with the content and invited me to Australia for the lecture last August. At that time unfortunately the Master was not available for he had been invited to Mainland China. This time they visited Japan for the International Religion People’s Conference held from January 21 in Okayama City and they had arranged their schedule to visit us in IHM Institute.
The party arrived by a large bus at 9:30 in the morning. Two thirds of them were live-in followers and one thirds of them were lay followers. They were from Australia, Taiwan, the United States, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. They all met in Narita(All of them are from Chinese background.)
Firstly we gathered all the staff and received a greeting speech from the Master. We felt honored when he said that “The Message from Water” conveys what Buddha conveyed and he is thankful to the people of IHM for creating something visible.
After that, I talked for two hours about The Message of Water Vol.3・・・Love Thyself. The Master nodded occasionally and seemed to be very content with my explanation, because in fact it was like what the Master preaches was explained with the pictures.
We had lunch at a Chinese restaurant in Asakusa they had arranged that one of the followers of the Master manages. My wife and I were impressed with the vegetarian dishes and enjoyed various topics of talk with the Master. We heard that the Master is 78 years old now and was born in a town near Nanjing in Mainland China and entered the Buddhist priesthood at the age of 26, and he had been invited by presidents of various countries in Asia and mediates religious conflicts in those countries.
While we were talking I felt the Master’s rugged nature and purely warm HADO; the HADO of love and gratitude. My wife said aptly “you are still far behind”. I do not mean to complete, but I indeed agreed with my wife. It would be wonderful if I could obtain Hado of love and gratitude that comes out naturally from the body while continuing the work as a president of a company.
After that we showed them around the institute, answered their questions till past four o’clock. When we were saying good-by, the Master gave me a warm and tender handshake saying encouragingly “We will support you”. I thought, being so moved, that there are so many great, wonderful people in the world.

■ Jan.27,2004 Sierra Leone

On a Sunday night, I watched a NHK TV program “The map of 6.3 billion people, Life expectancy 2004 The journey of lives”. It is a very shocking report that made me feel the importance of my mission activities for attaining peace.
According to the introduction of this program in the TV guide of the Yomiuri Newspaper, “Numbers speak loud. The spreading rate of infectious disease, income differential, increase rate in violence… Using these kinds of statistics, they created a data map in order to report the reality of the world and to foresee the future of the humankind. It consists of nine episodes shown every month. The very first theme is on life expectancy”.
Lately I haven’t watched television, but it somehow drew my attention and I want to share with you the first part of this program, which was very serious in its content.
Sierra Leone is a small country in the West Africa with the population of 4.5 million people. The program starts with a journalist visiting the country to research their life expectancy. Sierra Leone has one of the lowest life expectancy in the world. It’s only 34 years old!? It is because the life expectancy of children is particularly low, so one child in four dies before the age of five. I presumed that it was due to deaths from starvation. Therefore, I thought that it is a barren country with desserts.
Nonetheless, the picture from the airplane showed lands full of greenery. I probably wasn’t the only one who thought What!? Why? Then, we got to know through the screen the reason behind it. Adults who work on the farmland had no hands and legs. So, they cannot farm efficiently. More surprisingly, there were also children who had disabled hands and legs. This was tragically due to the civil war that went on for ten years dating back to 1992.
People fought over the right of diamonds that were discovered in this country, which separated the country and led to brutal killings. Many farmers, even women and children had their legs and arms cut off, so that they could deprive the future work force. Of course, there were no agriculture during the war and while the lands became poor, most children fell ill for malnutrition. There were also not enough medical facilities. Even though they managed to end the atrocity 2 years ago, it was too much of a task for the disabled farmers to restore the condition of the land, so as a result, the chronic starvation of the children is still occurring.
Being blinded by diamonds, they killed each other to wreck the future of the children. Sometimes it is hard to forgive ignorant people and I fear for what they do. I believe that people by nature can be good, but I recognized that this comes with the right kind of knowledge.
The Message from Water was born in Japan and it was translated and published in various countries. The order is as follows: Japanese (English) … Greek … German … Taiwanese … Dutch … French … Italian … Hebrew … Korean … Spanish … Slavonic. At the moment, Polish, Hungarian, and Serbian version are now in the process of production and recently, I had offers from Croatian and Turkish, so the stage is moving onto East Europe.
East Europe is where there were partition and civil war just a decade ago. It seems to me that these people picked my book as textbooks, firmly determined not to let the tragedy happen again. As we look at these publications in chronological order, it seems that the culture and history of countries reflects that.
I could not stop but wish for a day when these African states can publish the book in their own language and invite us for seminars.

■ Jan.22,2004 A guest from Austria

A student from Austria, Klaus, came to visit me today. He is graduating from Osaka University this spring and is looking for a job. He was referred to us by a friend of his in Vienna. The friend is a musician who plays in a string trio. I have known his friend sinc e he requested us to take photos of water crystals formed in reaction to their music. He used the photos for posters promoting their upcoming concert.
Having studied business administration for four years in Japan, Klaus speaks Japanese very well. His career goal is to work as a bridge between Japan and Austria, specifically in a field related to music. He is determined and not looking into any other types of business other than music. The problem is that he hardly comes across such businesses. He just heard about us from his friend and came to our office. But he had no idea what we do here. He must have heard so little from his friend that he didn’t know anything about crystal pictures or hado. It was a lot of work to explain all that from scratch.
But he was a very nice person after all. We might be needing his help if and when we begin operations in Austria, Germany or Switzerland. As a matter of fact, we do have a project plan in the area, although I cannot announce it yet. So it is possible that I may be able to get him a music-related position.
I did my first lectures in Vienna and Salzburg, Austria, last November. I received a big welcome in Austria; attendance at my Vienna seminar was 1,500 and Salzburg was 1,400. Since then, I have been getting offers and e-mails from various Austrian contacts. One offer has evolved into a new project for which I am traveling to Vienna again in March. It seems that Klaus’ visit today will prove useful.
After he left, my secretary told me that I will be having another visitor from France next month. He is in a business consulting firm and comes to Japan often. He also speaks good Japanese. It seems that my office is becoming really international. I can stay here in my office and talented people from around the world come to visit me. That reminds me that I am expecting a Taiwanese religious leader and his followers on the 29th. His group of twenty people will travel by charter bus.

■ Jan.20,2004 About the food problems

Recently, Mr. O, one of my best friends, came to my office when he came to Tokyo on business(When we were university student, he was the captain of my rugby team. I was sub-captain, because there were only two members when we are in senior grade). He looked drawn very much.
After he had graduated university, he worked for a construction company for a while, and then he entered a chicken farming company, which was managed by the family of our ex-teammate. Later he established his own company. So far, he made a full effort for his chicken processing work with his wife and managed his company well. For example, he produced ‘chicken hero’, cut buffalo wing in half so that even women and children could eat it easily.
Immediately, I got the reason he looked drawn. His company is in topical Yamaguchi everyone’s talking about. His work is not chicken farming, but 90 % of the product he deals with is chicken. The damage, which his company got and will get, is easily predicted. Below is the talk with him.

E: As suspected, you look tired. Did you get some damage from that issue?
O: Yeah. When I heard that that occurred in Korea and Vietnam, I got a sense of danger. But it came faster than I imagined. To make matters worse, it came to Yamaguchi.
E: But you are not producer. You have nothing to do with that matter.
O: Yes. Besides, we don’t deal with chicken produced in Yamaguchi. We buy almost all of chicken from Kagoshima. But we must certify that. We must attach a certification of the place of production to all the chicken we produce. We must employ one person to do it. But it is costly, so I do it.
E: That’s hard. By the way, how’s your sale?
O: Decreased. Some people died by that disease, so the impact of the matter is so deep. But that has nothing to do with chicken. Only living birds are infectious. Huuh, such a disease after BSE. What is going on? Tell me, Emoto.
E: Uh. But firstly, you producers should think about how to assure the customers. For example, take antibacterial measures. Ah, you said you are using bamboo charcoal in some way, not?
O: Yes, we always use bamboo charcoal. When we make grilled chicken, we always use bamboo charcoal, because it has strong antibacterial effect.
E: That’s good. I measured the wave of bamboo charcoal before. It showed good scores. The toxicity of virus is nothing but wave, so I suppose the bamboo charcoal must have a good effect on it. It will be better to appeal it more. Anyway, let’s turn the potential disaster to our advantage and aim at making the product, which customers can buy with perfect ease. I will give you a little help I can.
O: All right. I’ll do that. Thank you for everything.

In fact, as he said, epidemic problems brought about by food are becoming hot topics these days. But as long as I know, such problems existed from a long time ago. It didn’t begin these days. After all, the development of internet bought about the disclosure of information by exposure from within, and the companies and government may got unable to control them all. These problems are shared with all human beings, and we can’t solve them in a brief space of time. Then, like my friend, food producers should make a action cordially. On the other hand, we consumers must not forget to appreciate the food we take. It is important to remember the old fashion and say ‘itadakimasu’ and ‘gochisousama’ placing our hands together in prayer.

■ Jan.19,2004 The Message from Water Vol.3

We delivered the manuscript of The Message from Water Vol.3 to a printing company today. Last year, I have published 5 books: The Crystal Story from Sunmark Publishing, Inc., What Water Tells Us and True Power of Water from Kodansha, Ltd., The Shape of Love that Water Tells Us from Tokuma Shoten Publishing, and Water Listens to Music from Mikasa Shobo Co., Ltd.. Because the editors of the publishers did a fair amount of writing through my interviews to compensate my overseas-trip-loaded tight schedule, I could complete those books with relatively little amount of work.
However, The Message from Water is a book series published by HADO Kyoikusha, which is run by my wife. The company is more like a self-publishing arm of my company, and therefore, we have no professional editor and everything has to be done all by ourselves.
At the end of last October, we formed a publishing team. In charge of text was Ms. Mamune, an editor in chief of Hado Magazine, in charge of crystal photos and supplemental materials was Mr. Kidu of I.H.M. Research Institute and in charge of layout was Mr. Mochizuki, who used to work for us and started his own company in April. We welcomed two new members in mid November. Ms. Hachii in Kanagawa, who has been translating this column, as a translator and Ms. Usami, an editor of this web page, as a proofreader. Including myself as a leader of 6-member team, we formed a crystal of hexagon.
For Vol. 1 and 2 of The Message from Water, except for my writings, all other parts of editing has been outsourced to Sun Create Co., Ltd. in Kobe. However, now the company is running at full capacity for our Monthly Hado Magazine and had no room for our new book. So, we decided to edit the book on our own (Mr. Mochizuki started his own practice but we still consider him as our company member). An independent full cover photo book with an English translation of full text is not an easy book to edit, especially for team members; none of them ever published a book before. However, all the members gave their best shot and worked together very smoothly, which led to a delivery of wonderful manuscript to the printer today. Yesterday, we invited 100 people and throw a party to announce the content of new book. When I completed my two-hour lecture with photo slides, I caught water in some attendees'eyes. Looking at the questionnaires, which most of the attendees returned, we were convinced that the book would make the bestseller lists. The official title of vol.3 is The message from Water: Love Thyself and will be published in the middle of February. Please look forward to the book.

■ Jan.17,2004 Fever

My adorable grandson returned with his family to the Netherlands the day before yesterday, and suddenly I felt my home was very empty without him. However, as I wrote in my diary yesterday, I now have a new toy, which will probably keep me from feeling lonely. As to my wife, she still looks very lost, and hasn’t changed the bath water that her dear Riku used. She is almost XX years old, but she acts as if she were a young girl.
Before my grandson and his family left, we all took a trip to a hot spring, where my grandson had a very high fever suddenly. However, my daughter said calmly to us as if to assure us, “It seems that he just has a roseola infantum and he should be fine.” The fever went up to 40℃, which made my wife and I very worried. I started to research the condition on the Internet using the computer I had with me. One of the sites I found was a website supported by “Kuba Pediatric Clinic” and what it explained about the condition was same as what my daughter said. The website explained about the condition compassionately from the viewpoint of mothers that there was nothing to worry about and just try to care the baby for the fever. My wife was also relieved after reading this explanation. He had the high fever for the next three days without seeing a doctor, however, the fever did go down to normal by the morning he left for the Netherlands.
For the past ten days spent with my daughter, Yoko, there were several instances where I found myself very pleased with the manner in which she raised her child. I especially found her calm demeanor and the way she handled the unexpected while traveling to be comforting. Regarding the website I happened to come across, “Kuba Pediatric Clinic,” the doctor is making a website with great content. I find this doctor in Aomori prefecture very passionate about practicing the local medicine. I recommend this site for mothers who have young children.
From this experience, I started wondering why our bodies felt languid and out of control during a fever. If I had a fever with 40 ℃, I think I would barely survive. A month ago, I was admitted to a university hospital to have my complete physical exam since I turned 60. As per normal medical procedures, my temperature was monitored in the morning, noon, and at night. The temperature was in the mid to late 30s, and it was less than 36 ℃. I realized my current temperature was one degree lower than during my youth, and probably attributable to the process of aging.
As to my grandson, Riku, his normal temperature is 37.5 ℃, and it is higher than my temperature by two degrees. Therefore, 40 ℃ for him is equivalent to 38 ℃ for me. It made me realize that larger the difference between the normal temperature and high fever, larger the difference of the physical conditions is, and in my case, the fever of 37 ℃ is high enough to weaken my body.
The temperature does change due to the vibrations. When vibrations are active, it leads to higher temperature, and vice versa. The reason why the microwave can give out high heat instantly is because it employs the high electromagnetic frequency to instantly activate the vibration of the water contained in the food. My grandson, Riku is in the middle of the process of his body cells growing up, and his vibrations are more active than mine, therefore the average temperature is also higher.
There is an old saying that older people should not drink cold water, and it is very true. If you reached the age where the vibration frequency is lower, you should drink warm water because the ice water will prevent the body from being active.
Now it comes to today’s main subject. Why does the higher than normal temperature cause physical weakness? I came to a conclusion that it is because the energy, which is the vibration itself cannot be stored. When you come to think of it, all the phenomena on the earth, scientific products, existence of all animals and natures would go toward destruction if the abnormal amount of the vibration energies were kept inside. The earthquakes, floods, typhoons, volcanic explosions and atomic bombs, or hydrogen bombs are some examples of this. Animals don’t overeat, but when we do, it means that we have taken too many vibrations, and we consequently damage our body. Even for animals or plants, if they became too powerful and lose the necessary vibrations, they will go extinct eventually like dinosaurs.
I am sure that this is God’s plan under the concept that God will not allow us to store more energy than necessary. In other words, I believe that the message is to “store only the energy necessary, and to share the rest and circulate. Circulation is the only sustainable method.”
Today is the anniversary of the Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake and I pray for the souls of its 6,000 victims.

■ Jan.16,2004 Astronomical telescope

Today, I got an astronomical telescope, which I ordered on-line. The last September I moved to a condominium. I live in the 19th floor, the highest. From its deck, I can see the bright stars in the night sky. I bought the telescope to think deeply about various things facing the universe.
By the way, I saw a news program on TV at seven. It told me that America announced new plan on space exploration. In this plan, they formulate the construction of a lunar base and manned flight to the Mars. I saw that news soon after I came back to my home carrying the telescope, which was sent to my office, and I began to assemble it. I’m 60 years old, and until now, I had little interest in star watching. What a coincidence that such a gargantuan project was announced when I was assembling the telescope for the first time in my life. Probably the God knows everything I do.
Then, I barely succeeded to assemble the telescope. But later I realized that it needs 8 size-AA-batteries to work. I didn’t have any stock. Today, I failed to launch the rocket of my imagination. Actually speaking, poor maintenance postponed the launch. The telescope was expensive, so they should enclose the batteries. Very funny.
According to the plan which was announced by the President Bush, the flight to the Mars is scheduled in 2020 or later. To tell you the truth, I decided to move to Mars after I finished my life, and I declared that in my latest books. I hope Bush’s plan doesn’t realize so early, because I want to go to Mars earlier (I want to investigate the Mars and send the information about the Mars to the Earth so that they can come to the Mars safely. In short, I want to be a pilot). If the plan will be carried out early, I must die early.I want them to come to the Mars in 2030 or later if they can wait a little.

This year, foolish behavior of certain youths at the coming of age ceremony and their acts in public roads and parking lots have been reported by various news programs on a large scale again. I am against these kinds of TV shows.
Obviously, it’s on a public network so anyone can watch it. Many teenagers who are planning to attend the ceremony also must be watching it. Most of them would think ‘Oh my, I wish nothing will happen in ours’. But there are a few of them that may think ‘Wow, that looks like fun, why can’t I do it?’ Very few of them also may think ‘That looks cool! I may be on the television too. OK, let me think of what I can do!’
There are many cases in which things on the subconscious level emerge just by watching the television. It’s the phenomenon of waking up the sleeping dogs. Isn’t it true that no matter how mischievous the youth is, s/he won’t put it into action unless there is some kind of trigger that allows it? I think that news media give the spark unintentionally. When one grasps the basic theory of energy, resonance, one can easily realize that only negative reactions return from excessive negative dispatches. I would like the TV media, which is regarded as the guard of social justice, to study more about the ‘hado’s concept of energy.

■ Jan.9,2004 Images from Mars

Jan 7th evening edition of the Daily Yomiuri displayed vivid color photos taken and sent by the robotic rover Spirit. The headline reads, "Did Water Exist on Mars?" and the article says,

"On reddish brown land, we can see rocks of all sizes including the one as big as an automobile, and shallow holes like small craters. The sky on the horizen is pink due to the thin atmosphere. There are round rocks which could be the result of water-driven erosion in the distant past."

I read the article and looked at the pictures with mixed feelings. It seems obvious that no form of life exists there. The article explains that there are round rocks which suggest that Mars possibly had water in the earlier times. But as far as I can tell from these photos, there is no water on Mars today.
I am puzzled. I wonder why there is abundant water here on Earth, but not even a sign of it on our neighboring planet. It is a mystery. Suppose water was present in the past, why no more? My childlike imagination runs wild. I am endlessly making up assumptions and fantasies.
I should probably bite my tongue until we get more reports from the Spirit rover. However, we can say for sure that Earth is so much more beautiful than Mars that it's beyond comparison. We are extremely lucky that we can live on such an exquisite planet.
I went even further to consider, what if Mars was once as beautiful as Earth? It is rather a natural way of thinking, since the report suggests the possibility of water once existing on Mars. Then, it is also possible to think that Earth may end up to be like Mars. In other words, we may lose water in the future. Someday down the line, we might see an end of water supply on Earth. It will be the case, if we keep on fighting each other, be it terrorism or "fighting terrorism." If we keep retaliating and continue to live amongst fire, we will find ourselves on a red planet. We waste water and rely only on fire energy. As a natural consequence; fertile land will turn red.
We must avoid such an ending. What we need to do now is to stop all the wars at once and create a world where people peacefully coexist. But how?
In Messages from Water, vol.3 I intended to explore the "how" question with readers. It will be for sale on Feb. 11th. If you have pre-ordered, please be patient.

My daughter came back to Japan from Holland last month. Today, she came to our office with her son to greet us. Since she worked in IHM about 5 years ago and some her co-workers are still working here, she always visit our office when she come back to Japan. For the first time she took my grandson Riku to our office. Riku was welcomed by squeal of the office girls, so he got delighted and smiled at everyone all over the office.
Ms. Kimura, who is in charge of Wakuwaku hado club(This page is written in Japanese), immediately got the picture of his smiling by her cellular phone, and then uploaded the pictures to the top page of our website and advertisement page of Ever Mere Gel Cream. This time Riku debuted as a commercial talent.
Then he entered my room. At first, he played with a stuffed toy and so on, but he seems to like the toys that make sounds. When I gave him a tuning fork, he gladly hit it for the time being. He resembles me.
Then he found a Tibetan bell and clung to it. He likes a Tibetan bell even thought he is still very young! It must be an inheritance from me. After he played with it untill he completely satisfied, he may got thirsty, he found and cadged for Hado water on my desk. My daughter gave it to him, and he drank it at a glup. He must be the successor of my work 30 years later. Thinking such a thing, I smiled a smile of satisfaction. I may be a doting grandfather. (right above : my grandson got tired from playing and got to sleep on the sofa)

■ Jan.6,2004 Good News

Everybody, happy New Year! I wish you a lot of happiness and health.
First, please take a look at my diary of Tuesday, December 8, last year. This is about Ms. Yoko Ono’s message (a full text of the message can be viewed at http://rense.com/general45/WE.HTM).
When I read the message, I was so moved so that I contacted Ms. Reiko Yukawa, my close friend, to get Ms. Ono’s address and wrote a thank-you letter. Today, I receive a return message through her agent in Japan. According to the message, Ms. Ono is going to give a speech at a conference in Liverpool, a motherland of the Beatles, in the U.K. The big news is that she is planning to show my photo of crystals to the audience at the conference. She needs us to send her some photos she can use to appeal the importance of language.
Upon the message, I have picked some photos and already sent them to her. It goes without saying that I have included photos of water, which listened to the songs such as “Imagine” and “Yesterday”.
On January 15th, Message from Water will be sent out from Liverpool. My new year started with big news. In this year, I could be even busier than last year.

■ Jan.1,2004 Happy New Year

Everybody, happy New Year! I wish you a lot of happiness and health.

There were small things here and there, but I’m relieved that we were able to somehow greet a peaceful new year. The only concern is the excessive number of fire and death that was led by it. Just how many accidents occurred from the end of last year to this year? Amidst of people saying that the era of water has began, there is something in the power of fire that is speaking “we still won’t make it your era”. So as the cheerleader of the Water team, I feel tightened up. (picture: Sunrise over the Tokyo Gulf, from my flat in Urayasu)
As I’m writing this, they reported in the news that the first Mars rover landed on Mars with much of success. And the pictures of Mars sent from there showed, as expected, the landscape of a desolate dessert. We still have to wait to find out if there really is water, or if life exists on Mars. At any rate, the year started with the topics of ‘fire’, but ideally, fire and water should balance each other, so I am planning to put my full energy into seminars and writings in and outside of Japan. I’m counting on your support.
